NFL Free Agency Overview (So Far)

Even though an NFL game will not be played for another couple months, the hype surrounding the upcoming season began this past week as free agency officially opened. Some of the biggest names in the NFL are on the move, and teams are already looking very different. Some talented free agents are still available; however, many players have already been signed. Here is a team-by-team recap of some of the most notable free agency signings (so far):

Arizona Cardinals
Acquired OT Marcus Gilbert from the Steelers for a 2019 sixth-round pick.
Signed OLB Terrell Suggs to a 2-year, $10 million deal.
Signed ILB Jordan Hicks to a four-year, $36 million contract.

Atlanta Falcons
Brought back star DT Grady Jarrett, by placing him on a $15.2 million franchise tag.

Baltimore Ravens
Signed veteran FS Earl Thomas to a 4-year, $55 contract.
Signed former Saints RB Mark Ingram to a 3-year, $15 million deal.

Buffalo Bills
Signed WR Cole Beasley to a 4-year, $29 million deal.
Brought in an ageless wonder, RB Frank Gore for a 1-year, $2 million contract.

Carolina Panthers
Signed one of the league’s top centers, Matt Paradis to a three-year, $27 million contract.

Chicago Bears
Signed FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to a $3.5 million 1-year deal.

Cincinnati Bengals
Re-signed TE Tyler Eifert to a 1-year deal worth up to $6 million.

Cleveland Browns
Traded for superstar WR Odell Beckham Jr. and DE Olivier Vernon from the Giants.
Signed DT Sheldon Richardson to a three-year deal worth $36 million.

Dallas Cowboys
TE Jason Witten came out of the broadcast booth, and back to the field, signing a 1-year deal, worth up to $5 million.
Franchise tagged their star DE Demarcus Lawrence for just over $20 million.
Signed former Packers WR Randall Cobb to a 1-year, $5 million deal.

Denver Broncos
Acquired their new QB, Joe Flacco from the Ravens for a 2019 fourth-rounder.
Signed CB Kareem Jackson to a 3-year, $33 million contract.

Detroit Lions
Brought in two former Patriots with DE Trey Flowers and WR Danny Amendola.

Green Bay Packers
Signed former Bears safety, Adrian Amos to a 4-year, $37 million deal.
Signed OLB Za’Darius Smith to a 4-year, $66 million contract.

Houston Texans
Franchise tagged edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney for $15.4 million.
Signed CB Bradley Roby to a deal worth $10 million for 1 year.

Indianapolis Colts
Signed WR Devin Funchess to a 1-year, $13 million deal.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Signed Super Bowl MVP QB Nick Foles to a 4-year, $88 million deal.

Kansas City Chiefs
Signed FS Tyrann Mathieu to a 3-year, $42 million deal.

Los Angeles Chargers
Signed veteran LB Thomas Davis to a 2-year, $10.5 million contract.

Los Angeles Rams
Signed FS Eric Weddle to a 2-year, $12.5 million deal.
Brought in LB Clay Matthews for a $16.5 million contract over 2 years.
Brought back OLB Dante Fowler Jr. for 1 year and $14 million.

Miami Dolphins
Signed QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to a 2-year, $11 million contract.

Minnesota Vikings
Re-signed Anthony Barr to a 5-year, $67.5 million contract after he backed out of his original offer from the Jet’s.

New England Patriots
Traded for DE Michael Bennet (and a 2020 seventh-round pick) from the Eagles for a 2020 fifth-round pick.

New Orleans Saints
Re-signed backup QB Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year, $12.5 deal.
Signed DT Malcom Brown to a 3-year deal worth $15 million.

New York Giants
Acquired S Jabrill Peppers and OG Kevin Zeitler from their trades with Cleveland.
Signed Golden Tate to a 4-year, $37.5 million contract.

New York Jets
Signed RB Le’Veon Bell to a 4-year, $52 million deal.
Signed ILB C.J. Mosley to a 5-year, $85 million deal.
Traded a 2019 sixth-round pick in exchange for OG Kelechi Osemele from the Raiders.

Made Trent Brown the highest paid OT with a 4-year, $66 million contract.
Signed Tyrell Williams to a 4-year, $22 million deal.

Philadelphia Eagles
Traded for their former receiver DeSean Jackson.
Signed DT Malik Jackson to a 3-year, $30 million deal.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Signed CB Steven Nelson to a 3-year $25.5 million deal
Signed WR Donte Moncrief to a $9 million contract over 2 years
Signed LB Mark Barron to a 2-year, $12 million deal.

San Francisco 49ers
Signed ILB Kwon Alexander to a 4-year, $54 million deal.
Signed RB Tevin Coleman to a 2-year deal worth up to $10.6 million.
Traded for Chiefs OLB Dee Ford.

Seattle Seahawks
Franchise tagged DE Frank Clark.
Signed OG Mike Iupati to a 1-year, $3 million.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Signed OLB Deone Bucannon to a 1-year deal.

Tennessee Titans
Signed DE Cameron Wake to a 3-year, $23 million deal.

Washington Redskins
Signed SS Landon Collins to a 6-year, $84 million deal.
Traded for Broncos QB Case Keenum.
Re-signed veteran RB Adrian Peterson to a 2-year $8 million contract.
